The LGMA is managing a public library consultation to inform future strategies for libraries in Ireland. The consultation is part of 'Our Rural Future' the Government’s ambitious five-year policy to revitalise Rural Ireland and will inform a new Public Library Strategy to be released next year.
The goal of this consultation is to better understand attitudes towards the library service and seek feedback on how services can be improved in terms of access, use and visibility.
Previous strategies have led to the development of new policies and programmes including the removal of fines, the expansion of the eLibrary, and the implementation of the Healthy Ireland at your library programme.
