   • Emphasis by local authorities on delivering Rebuilding Ireland has led to a reduction in the vacancy of local authority social housing stock;

   • €186 million invested in strengthening and improving regional and local roads;

   • 63,587 pollution complaints made to local authorities in 2016 – 85% areas surveyed are unpolluted/litter free/slightly polluted;

Minister Naughten publishes first National Adaptation Framework

The Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Denis Naughten T.D., today (19th January 2018) published Ireland’s first statutory National Adaptation Framework and announced funding of €10m to establish Local Authority Regional Climate Action Offices.

Healthy Ireland Programme at Your Library

The programme will enhance current health information in public libraries by providing new book stock, e-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines on health and wellbeing, a wider selection of health information for all users, and through a service delivered by trained library staff.

Minister Breen meets with Local Authority Chief Executives and LEOs and announces increase in funding for microenterprise and new start-ups in 2017

Minister for Small Business and Employment, Pat Breen TD announced (24th Jan) an additional €4m in funding for the Local Enterprise Offices to stimulate new start-ups and jobs across the country and to help micro businesses to cope with challenges in the year ahead. This Additional funding will drive job creation around the country.
