The Procurement section provides advice and assistance to the other business areas in the LGMA regarding national and EU procurement regulations and contract management issues affecting their activities.


The section also provides ad hoc advice to local authorities on procurement matters, principally involving ICT purchases, and monitors legislative and case law developments to ensure its processes remain current in light of these developments and other best practice initiatives.

Current Project

The procurement section is currently undertaking a major exercise in reviewing Local Authority procurement, including spend analysis, in conjunction with other sectoral bodies.
